Nicholas Robert Cannavino Jr., age 73, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on July 8, 1950, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Peggy Deloris (Lloyd) and Nicholas Robert Cannavino II.
Nicholas moved to Florida after high school to be with family. He was a lifetime welder and worked with Ivy Steel for over ten years prior to retiring. He was a fun-loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Nicholas enjoyed collecting/selling coins and knives for his grandchildren at the local Flea Markets. He enjoyed boating, NASCAR, and tending to his yard. Nicholas' favorite hobby was spoiling his grandchildren. With his mischievous spirit, he would proudly go into public after playing Beautician with his granddaughter. That day would end with a pizza and scary movie.
Nicholas is preceded in death by his parents; children, Nicholas Robert Cannavino IV, Robert Daniel Greenway, Patrick Shawn Greenway; and sister, Denise Caroll McFalls. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Wanda Sue Cannavino; children, Nicole Lynn McWhirter of Texas, Tammy Stevens (Keith) of South Carolina, Nicholas Robert Cannavino V (Crystal Jamison) of Jacksonville, and Mandi Danielle Dugan (Michael) of Jacksonville; sister, Donna Michelle Johnson of South Carolina; grandchildren, Michael James Dugan, Jr. and Marissa Leigh Dugan of Jacksonville; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
