Iris Starling Obituary

Iris Jaqueline Suggs Starling, age 94, of St. George, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Hospice of Satilla on Friday, April 19, 2024. She was born in Charlton County, Georgia, on January 19, 1930, to Myrtle (Thomas) and W. Coachman Suggs and was a lifetime resident of Charlton County.
Mrs. Starling was a homemaker. She was of the Apostolic Pentecostal faith and loved the Lord. When she was able, she loved riding horses and pinning cattle with her husband, Gene. They also enjoyed fishing together on their boat.
Mrs. Starling is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Eugene T. Starling of St. George, Georgia; daughter, Carol May (Ernie) of Fruit Cove, Florida; stepsons, Michael “Mike” Starling of Nahunta, Georgia, Tony E. Starling of Hoboken, Georgia, and Mark Starling (Laurie) of Nahunta, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many church family and friends.
